Bedford - Lawrence County is located in the southern part of Indiana, 70 miles south of Indianapolis and 70 miles north of Louisville, Kentucky. St Louis, Missouri as well as Chicago, Illinois are within a 4-hour drive, making close proximity to major markets a plus.

Lawrence County has a one- percent local option tax (CAGIT) used for property tax credit. Tax abatements are available in Bedford, Mitchell and countywide for qualifying companies. A Tax Increment Financing (TIF) district has been established in the northern part of Lawrence County, and Bedford and Mitchell have established Enterprise Zones. The City of Bedford, Mitchell and Lawrence County have established the reputation of being extremely user-friendly to relocating companies, and have recently become home to Geo-Flo, and soon-to-be location of two new power plants, Cogentrix and Hoosier Energy.
