Chamber Third House Session

Chamber Public Relations Task Force Meeting
The Chamber Public Relations Task Force will meet on Tuesday, February 28th at noon in the Chamber Conference Room.
Chamber Announcement
The Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce Education Task Force and the Lawrence County Economic Growth Council have partnered to announce that starting in January, the last Friday of each month will now be Pathways to Success Day. NLCS educators, Chamber members and community members are encouraged to wear clothing that reflects the college or university that they attended. The goal of this initiative is to develop an ongoing communication with young people in the community about furthering education and the many choices that are available. Limestone Girl's Club from January 27

Wiley Art Center. Admission is free. Artist’s ages range from 6-12 years. The
Wiley Art Center is the new gallery on the corner of 14th and J streets, and regular gallery hours are Thursdays and Fridays 1 pm – 6 pm, and Saturdays 9 am – 1 pm.

St. Vincent de Paul Schools 8th graders will be serving Chicken Parmesan/Lasagna/Fettuccini at their Italian Dinner Saturday, February 4th, from 5 pm until 7:30 pm at the new Shamrock Center. Christie’s on the Square, located at 103 South High, announces Tuesday Tutorial “Heart Healthy” presented by Seth Bundy on Tuesday, February 7th at 11:30 am. Cost is $15/person. Seth will discuss how to make your meals heart friendly as he prepares a baby spinach salad topped with toasted pine nuts and a fresh citrus dressing. Bedford Parks Department announces that tickets are still available for the Father Daughter Dance to be held on Friday February 10th at the Limestone Girls Club from 7 pm – 9 pm. Tickets are $20 per couple and $25 for two or more daughters. Tickets are only on sale at the Bedford Parks Department from 7 am - 4 pm Monday thru Friday. Guest speaker for this year’s event is Kristin Messmore, refreshments will be provided by Magic Morning Bakery, Grace Kirkman, and Limestone Girls Club.
Lawrence County Concert Association announces The Not Too Bad Bluegrass Band will be performing at the BNL Performing Arts Center on Saturday, February 11th at 7:30 pm. They have been a vital part of Indiana’s vibrant tradition of bluegrass music. Based in southern Indiana, the band has performed at regional music festivals and events for over 25 years. In 2010 they were honored to perform at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., as part of the center’s 2010 Homegrown Concert Series. Tickets are $20 and available at the Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce and Copy Trolley.
City of Bedford announces the second Downtown Bedford Brainstorming Workshop on Monday, February 13th from 4 pm – 6 pm at the
Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce Conference Room. Over the next five months the
City of Bedford will be involved in a planning effort to revitalize the downtown area. They are looking for people who have an interest in the future of the downtown and would value an opportunity to participate in the downtown brainstorming workshop. A critical component in this planning effort, the workshop will give everyone an opportunity to give their input on what they would like to see downtown. North Lawrence Community Schools announce that the 2012 Lawrence County History Festival will hold a fundraiser on Saturday, February 25th at the Wilson Park Shelter House in Bedford. Bedford Parks Department will be partnering up once again with the Thornton Memorial Boys Club on Saturday March 3rd from 1 pm – 3 pm to host the Mother Son Bowling event at Broadview Bowling Alley. Tickets are on sale at the Bedford Parks Department only from 7 am – 4 pm Monday thru Friday. A limited number of tickets are available; no tickets will be available at the door.
